    I worked at Trapeze Software

    Pros

    Decent salary and benefits
    Calm working environment
    Opportunities for travel
Work/life balance is generally good (WFH is available)
    Approachable co-workers

    Cons

Seemingly kind, yet clueless (senior) management
Weak and aging product; not rigorously tested for quality
Timesheets for everyone, in ridiculous detail. Micromanaged in some regards.
Generally tight cost controls, oddly combined with mind-boggling inefficiencies in some aspects of how business is done. Intense focus on stock price.

Overall, if you desire growth, independence, intellectual stimulation or a fast-paced environment, you won't find it here. If you're looking for a safe or comfortable seat, then it could be an ok move. To me it was a somewhat depressing work environment - calm but to the point where it was clear nobody had any passion or excitement for what they were doing and were simply putting in time, with fairly low morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why treat "innovation" as a panacea for growing the business instead of improving the quality of the product or responding to competitors, which in many cases are hungry and driven, seemingly the exact opposite of Trapeze? Increase your competency and open your eyes to reality. Reach out to employees at the ground level - there is a clear perception of management doing well financially (stock options, etc), with little regard for those who are doing the "real work". There is a real and growing rift between you and the front line.

My experience at Trapeze was a mixed bag, mostly because of constant changes in strategy and lack of strategic direction

    I worked at Trapeze Software

    Pros

Good benefits package, opportunity to travel. They are the leader in the industry. Exposure to software and technology, with the opportunity to interact with varying levels of people within client companies.

    Cons

All key decisions made at headquarters which is in Toronto. Senior management does not take the time to get input from employees, nor to get to know their employees strengths, weaknesses or aspirations. Over confident, and they have not evolved their marketing approach as new, nimble and more aggressive competitors have entered the market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People make the company, so take the time to get to know them. And get out and speak with people in the market so you can look at yourself through the market's eyes, and not just your own view of who you think you are.
