I have been working at Travelers Companies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nothing differentiating which is not available in any other similar size company.

    Cons

Every business line in travelers work as a separate company. While a few business lines are good, others more or less function in an inefficient and struggling business lines. Especially beware of 'Personal Lines'.
    1. Due to high prices of Travelers products compared to competition its loosing business and there is high cost pressure.
    2. There are no defined processes and industry accepted processes. Every Sr. managers keep building and modifying processes on the go as per their convenience.
    3. Plus in most of areas there are senior managers who are working in Travelers 15 to 20+ years. Besides obviously causing high cost to company, they are not at all open for changes and new ideas. They want to work on same concepts which were useful 15-20+ years back.
    4. In every project this company is highly miser and cost-minded. In most of projects they really do not think whether solution build is useful for future or not. All they think about is implement some workarounds and tactical solution to get relief from immediate pain of thier own department. Highly cost minded company.
    5. There is significant politics and discrimination behind the doors in terms of rewarding bonuses and benefits. It highly depends on your type of relationship and how long you have worked with same manager. It is not true high work ethics as it keep claiming in every forum. HR does not do anything to initiate any significant change except to hear.

I have been working at Travelers Companies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Time off is the ONLY thing

    Cons

They dont care about you or your needs they just want you to work and be available to them at any time. You don't make it in the company unless you sell stuff you shouldn't or you "know" the right people

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop sleeping with employees. HR needs to learn to keep things private when someone comes to them with problems. There are no guidlines at the company they make things up as you go depending on who you are. The documents are just for show
