Travelocity – “Great place to work but horrible pay...”
3 of 3 people found this helpfulPros
Travelocity offers some excellent perks to it's employees, depending on which department you are in. It offers yearly company trips (all paid for by the company) to Napa or to Great America. I've also never been to so many company lunches (all paid by the company) in my life before. There is bagel day on Friday and fruit day on Monday.
***This is probably why they can't afford to pay their employees a decent wage.
Working at Travelocity can be fun and can also be challenging. You get to really learn a lot about travel and the way the company works.
Cons
The pay is absolutely horrible and uncompetetive. They must believe their perks with keep them alive.
A lot of the employees are incompetent and do not know what they are doing. It's because a lot of people come in and out of positions. There is so much red tape at Travelocity it is very hard to accomplish anything that will make the company move forward. Just look at the website. It's proof that they are not updated on the latest trends. They just have way too many departments working on one thing.
Raises are non-existant here. You will NOT get one no matter how hard you try. AND if you ask for one...management will come back with a list of lies and excuses so they don't have to give you one.
Advice to Senior Management
Cut back on all those perks and company lunches and start paying your people what they are worth.
Remove the restraints of the red tape so the company can move forward and progress.
Give your people annual raises and cost of living adjustments.
