Proud & successful business with untapped potential

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Travelport

Pros+ Pay in-line with market
+ Flexible working (role/ location dependent)
+ Employees knowledge, experience, dedication & loyalty
+ Global network and relationship with travel suppliers and agents
+ Profitability and potential

Cons- Ownership suffocating potential
- Focus on short-term, business driven by finance
- SPIN; much skin-deep on-a-shoestring activity to tick boxes
- Lack of medium & long term direction and commitment
- Nominal people development & pre-historic people management

Advice to Senior Management+ Listen to and focus on customers, employees and quality; profits will follow
+ Import guidance on people development best practice: delegate responsibility, implement program to cross-fertilize knowledge across the business etc.
+ Strip out at least one top layer, refresh the entrenched senior politicians with the genuine layer below
