Pros

Trinchero is a leader in the wine industry and had a wide portfolio of wines. Family ownership. Environmental consciousness. Good benefits. The company is excelling right now, while many others in the industry are struggling.

Cons

Salaries could be higher (but this is compensated by benefits like generous profit sharing).

Advice to Management

Communicate more often. In the last 2 or so years, we have seemed to be more progressive in some of the support departments (IT, HR, etc) which has been a good thing for productivity and quality of work. Keep it up.

    Pros

    Excellent benefits and nice people.

    Cons

Way too much micromanagement. There is NO sense of 'team' in terms of people working together, sharing ideas or working collaboratively. The few people at the top who make ALL of the decisions rarely look for input from the people on the ground. They are growing quickly but too stuck in the past in terms of how to operate and the efficiency is horrible with extremely poor communication between people, departments and facilities. Forget trying to be progressive, introduce new ideas or feel like you have anything to contribute. Just do what you are asked to do, don't make any decisions about anything, don't have too many opinions and by all means understand the politics of this institution....oh, and don't be a 'problem solver'....this company is in denial that there are any issues with how they operate so they don't think there is a better way to do anything.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes. Every single one of your employees can tell you 100 things about their departments that are inefficient, poorly thought out and could seriously be streamlined or improved. I would strongly suggest hiring a company who specializes in optimization and efficiency, they can work with you on everything: How to communicate changes, optimize resources, streamline procedures, train people, balance job duties, figure out better systems for tracking purchasing, bulk wine management, compliance, etc, all while maintaining quality and growth. This company needs a huge facelift in how it operates if it expects to hire people into higher level positions and actually expect them to stay for any length of time.
