Pros

Worked in a nicely sized lab which wasn't too stressed or competitive, had good communication between all members of the lab and was a friendly work environment. Good support for things I was not familiar with from all people.

Cons

My lab was removed from the main campus and I had to get a lot of things sorted out there in terms of paperwork. They could have done without some of the unnecessary red tape and had better office hours to save me time and hassle.

Advice to Management

Make bureaucracy less of an issue for students and workers, communicate more with them as well and stay in touch with their work

    Pros

Great reputation and job perspectives, large organisation, competitive pay, some opportunities, training and further education possibilities, some amazing people and projects

    Cons

Some departments: still exist in the 1960s, little recognition by the senior staff, slow to change, little effort to improve

    Advice to Management

    Treat junior employees better

    Pros

Reputation, networking, diversity, experience, opportunities for further development

    Cons

Really depends on the Department/School. Some are extremely inflexible, resist ANY change or improvements, and rarely hire young professionals
