I have been working at Tripwire

    Pros

exciting products, but need more to sell.
Nice office space - much more room since the major layoffs from earlier this year
    Little politics
Need product and engineering leadership - team has been weak and w/o direction

    Cons

New board and ownership have completely changed the company.
100% of focus on on profitability, which makes sense, but everything important has been cut out of the company, including sales team and sales leadership. Feels like a car without an engine

Where is the upside for the little people in the company?

    Pros

Free soft drinks and bike locker.
    Convenient downtown location.

    Cons

Piss poor communication and lack of transparancy- although all they talk about is transparancy.
Ever changing job and departments, no follow through on department goals and promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you hire someone for a job, they should do THAT job. Not others positions or a completely unrelated task. Promotions are a long time coming and seem to come randomly. However Snr Management has a strong vision and is thoughtful and very thorough about going that route.
