If you are a pet lover, Trupanion allows you to bring your dog or cat to work with you daily.

Cons

Trupanion is growing too fast that we are running out of room to fit everyone.

I have been working at Trupanion as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Unlike a typical rep model you are the owner of your business with a terrific recurring revenue model. You manage your business on your terms with little requirements. It is a self policing roll. If you do not get in front of hospitals you will not grow your business. This is for entrepreneurs who understand that the first several years are a challenge but the reward is epic if you have skills that help support the veterinary community.

The unbelievable customer support and claims folks who work their tail off

    Daryl Rawlings CEO

All of the other TPs who are just like you and trying to change the veterinary industry and save pets.

    Territory Partner support staff

    Innovation

THE OVERWHELMING FEELING THAT WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE AND HELPING MANY PETS

I have been a Territory Partner for 4 plus years and I have never felt they were anything but honest with expectations. If you are blaming Trupanion you need to look in the mirror, this is not a sales job with an expense account it is a business. Own it. Research your market. Know what percentage of pets you need to insure to live a happy life. If you are looking at a small rural market do not expect a large metropolitan income.

Do not forget - You own your business and the income you earn today keeps coming long after you were to stop if you elected to do so.

    Cons

This career is very simple just not easy.

Each region presents different problems. Pet population has an impact and so does the culture. It doesn't mean it can't be done, it just may lengthen your time frame for your relative success.

There is always a push pull relationship between the Territory Partners and the home office as the company grows. Both are wanting to show their value to justify their efforts. However the daily touches with the veterinary community by the Territory Partners should be remembered and utilized when working on any projects that effect the veterinary community.

Like any "sales" career there are days it is flat out hard to walk into a hospital - GO
