I have been working at TubeMogul full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Too much play time. Too much sales types. Love the CEO (good guy with a great heart). Someone already mentioned passive types need not apply. However, those 'passive types' may be the ones thinking and reflecting on new ways to launch new technology. Feels a lot like a Fraternity House many times. Different folks have different study habits.

    Cons

No development plan for new engineers. Sink or Swim. Lots of burning midnight oil during releases (as though that is something to be proud of). Come in with eyes bright wide open to the engineering team, and you are in for some hard studying while partying with the folks. The CEO actually told some to start working during one of the often drinking gathering around cubicles. The 'high achievers' are those already familiar with the technology stack (bad morale for new developers). Lots of engineering turnovers (except for those who have been here a LONG time and again, very familiar with the technology). For engineers: there are lots of other places where you can hone and sharpen your craft without party binge-ing. This place is more for sales folks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engineers need QUIET time (which they only get at home..working the night away).
