    Pros

Its was a job that paid.

    Cons

Tuff Shed is a company that is flawed from the top down. Senior management built a company during a boom economy and is not prepared to lead this company through this recession. I'm suprised this company has stayed in business this long.

    Advice to Management

Fire all senior management, tom needs to step aside and become chairman of the board. Hire some people with college educations to run this business. Read any basic business book and then start from scratch. Use your relationship with HD to rebuild you business. Revise your sales pay structure.

Good name, but senior management is killing the company & needs REAL managers.

    Pros

its a job. company provides all tools

    Cons

lack of corporate leadership from senior execs. very low pay. poor benefits. It costs $700 per month for insurance just for myself, wife and newborn each month and I only earn $14.25 an hour as a lead builder. senior management doesnt seem to care about the staff and doesnt listen to us poorly maintained equipment - very dangerous.

    Advice to Management

Here's the honest truth. The company has a lot of potential because of its relationship with Home Depot in about 1,500 stores across the country. BUT, this is one of those cases where the CEO should step aside and become Chairman of the board and Hire REAL qualified VP's that are experienced and NOT RELATIVES that have only Lumber salesman experience fresh out of high school. Tom Saury the CEO is a very nice guy and has passion to see the company to success, but the problem is with his VP (related) that has a high school education and has been working with Tom since 1980's as his friend. Craig Scott (VP) has absolutely no management experience, but is a nice person. It's just frustrating when he continuously changes his thoughts and shows absolutely no drive or passion and seems at times quite clueless on how to run a business. Tom needs to step aside, hire OUTSIDE senior managers and a new CEO. Craig Scott needs to be terminated (which will never happen) and replaced with new managers that actually care about its employees and the long term success of the company.
