Turner Broadcasting – “Totally drink the Kool-Aid-- and loving it!”
2 of 3 people found this helpfulPros
Great company-- and one in it for the long haul. No short term budget cutting b.s., they put their money where their mouths are. Unlike many broadcasters and cable companies, they "get it." I'm not a "diverse" person, ok-- I'm a white male-- but Turner believes IMPLICITLY that not only is diversity good for people, good for minorities-- that a diverse creates a climate of creativity and innovation...and creativity and innovation will continue Turner's success. how frickin' cool is that? My own department is fairly diverse, there are definitely more women than men, but there are also people of many skin colors, nationalities and even countries. There's a woman from Turkey! Amazing.
Cons
Not many, to be honest. Atlanta's not all that and a bag of potato chips, for sure...but that's about it. The only other "bad" thing I could say, if it even qualifies as "bad," per se, is that the two main Atlanta campuses (Techwood and CNN) are pretty disconnected both geographically and psychologically. It's too bad because both have a lot to offer eachother in the promotion of good ideas. Unfortunately, each "side" feels and acts superior to the other. Each definitely has its own success and its own advantages. If they just came together more, the potential for incredible sucess would be astronomical.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work. And maybe buy us all iPhones since we had such a great year. That's not too much to ask, is it?
