Experience with a global employer with lots of big names that other recrutiers love to see on resumes.
Due to lack of available resources, you get to work on everything.
If you show up for work every day on time, you will get a minimum raise and bonux even if you never do anything.
Cons
Management by fear and intimidation.
Complaints about management do not have action taken on them by HR.
50% staff turn over in groups.
Hide in office all day and only come out when the heat is on management philosophy.
Upper management is clueless on technology.
Company announces cost reductions, but does not implement a policy to restrict BlackBerries to only individuals that truly need them.
Too mnay groups doing the same job.
Management only trains some individuals, but expects everyone to have the knowledge to support.
If it ain't broke, why should we worry, followed by OH MI GAWD IT IS BROKE AND THE WORLD IS ENDING style of crisis management leads to burnout.
Low morale is believed to be handled by handing out surveys on which no action is ever taken.
Advice to Senior Management
Reorganize all technical divisions into areas of operation.
Root out mid-level management incompotence.
Terminate the CTO as he doesn't not understand anything other than buzz-word technology.
