I worked at Twentieth Century Fox Television

Pros

Exciting industry and opportunity to be innovative. There were some god perks in working as part of Twentieth Century Fox (free DVDs, screenings on the lot and subsidized lunches at lot commissary). Direct report bosses were generally really great, but their bosses were often uncommunicative and uninterested in lower level employees.

Cons

Lack of leadership, terrible communication and lack of overall strategy. Certain departments were regularly ignored, and preference was shown to people who agreed with the boss, regardless of whether it was a good decision or not, while those who would simply speak their mind and point out potential issues were ignored.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your employees and involve them in strategic decision making. They are experienced in their field and that experience and knowledge should be tapped.
