I worked at Tyco

Pros

Good people in Boca Raton as well as a few of the regional offices who want to do the right thing

Cons

How many can one list? Senior management (no CEO for months) is turning the place back 30 years by returning to little more than a burglar/fire alarm monitoring company while letting hundreds of employees go. CFO is a total ass. Back office systems are a joke and begs for an external SEC audit to determine what numbers are real and which are not. HR department is just the worst. Basic capabilities and tools provided to staff are nominal. This company will be run into the ground and sold in less than 2 years to a firm who wants to buy little more than subscriber base.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate to your employees and try telling the truth, for once. And to hear all the wealth being accumulated at the top of Tyco is enough to make all the employees want to leave.

I worked at Tyco full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

paid education in chosen fields, benefit package, several options for insurance coverage, matching 410k contribution, paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation and 40 hours pto at the start

    Cons

zero tolerance for minor infractions, no clear guidance until after the fact, scapegoat tactics employed by management, annual raises just pennies on the dollar. to many chiefs not enough Indians, sloppy workmanship promoted over quality, life safety issues not as important as profit, micro-management by pencil pushers and bean counters.
