Pros

Employee friendly policies, caring management, excellent pay & benefits

Cons

Leadership is in silos by business, difficult to navigate change or make improvements, very disjointed. Talent not consistently developed or opportunities shared. Values look great on paper, but inconsistently applied and employees are not always held accountable (some yes, some no).

Advice to Management

Lead from a central point, establish consistent talent development strategies, hold people accountable for the company's values fairly.

    Pros

Tyco IS can offer what is probably one of the broadest range of security product line in the industry, and Tyco gets the vendor's best prices. Tyco is also spending lots of money for name recognition for what is a new, old giant.

    Cons

Having restructured from the split-off of ADT as a dedicated residential security company, Tyco is still thick with layers of management and bureaucracy. Despite low material costs, the final cost to the customer is always high.

    Advice to Management

Get back the "ADT" name and thin the management ranks.

    Pros

Good pay & benefits. Not nearly as good as when we were purchased by TYCO.

    Cons

Management does not really care about the employees. All that is cared about is the return on investment for the share holders. Customer service has declined thanks to the SRC and the sending of alarms to Colorado. Equipment quality has also declined now that the manufacturing had been sent to Mexico & China. The sales department does not care what they sell and long as they make their numbers to keep their jobs and don't end up on a PIP. After over 15 years of putting my heart and soul into this company, I can't take it anymore. Very unprofessional bean counter mentality from the top (Bob Chauvin) to the lower managers.

    Advice to Management

Fire all of the managers, especially Bob Chauvin, and sell us back to Chris.
