Pros

Before bought by TYCO a split up so the security part could be sold, ADT was a great team. Great training and benefits.

Cons

Then when bought by TYCO, all of a sudden our three main goals were gone and customers came last. Only monthly margins/project closings were important, even if they were done poorly. People started scrambling for higher positions so they were secure. Many things made no sense, like 5 or 6 directors over 10 PM's when before when it was ADT there was one director over 15 with no problem, many other issues of duplicating effort at the customers cost. Many upper management people saw this coming and just left. Others were just hanging on knowing that lay-offs were coming and only stayed in hopes they would be kept. But lay-offs were not even or just, some great people were let go and others that actually did nothing all day were saved by their managers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think! If TYCO IS is going to be sold fine, but think of our customers and quality work.

    Pros

If you are in need of a job and they were the only offer on the table, then you'd probably be smart to take it.

    Cons

If you're looking to build a career, you may want to think twice, or enter without any career advancement expectations. Diversity was almost non-existent just a few years ago, but now they seem to have gone overboard. This organization is 1000% financially driven. Employees and customers are a means to a financial end. There's really no development opportunities because there's never any budget available. This is a good place to do what you are asked to do, stay low and collect a paycheck. If you are a thinker and looking for an organization where you can exercise your creativity, run extremely fast in the other direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are a few good people in management, but several should have been taken out of that role long ago. Management tends to hire others in their self image. So in the long run, there's really no diversity of thought in senior ranks.
