Pros

Bonuses pay out, lots to do

Cons

Leadership doesn't care about employees anymore. Communication is at an all time low. Common for people to be doing 3 jobs.

Advice to Management

Communicate, pick your head up from out of the sand and listen.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

-Great technical problems to solve -very good products -well organized, with pockets of excellence, was fortunate to be a part of a excellent group -good salary and vacation days -good 401k

    Cons

-very poor health benefits, one of the worst of the companies I worked in. Got from bad to worse over the years. -upper management likes to buy companies, but not groom them once bought. -promotion scheme not very transparent, even the managers are unclear about the process.. - don't know how a few incompetent people reached very senior managerial levels, and are calling shots on things like complex systems (hardware or software), when they have no working knowledge of those.

    Advice to Management

-Time to market is important, but you need to groom the internal units/pior companies you buy and let them innovate. Buying yet another company is not a solution. You will be playing catch up all the time. -Quality R&D comes with recruiting quality people. While there are lot of pockets of excellence, the management needs to put more manpower into those groups. Create atmosphere for innovation with stable growing groups. Very little patents generated!
