    Pros

US Bank is one of the largest and most respected financial institutions around. There are lots of opportunities for advancement and lateral career changes. Hours are very good and there is good opportunity for incentive pay.

    Cons

It is a Big Bank. So, it's also a big corporation. That means there is very little opportunity for you to do things outside the box. Also, depending on the business line, there can be quite a bit of politics. compensation is generally lower than local or regional banks, but that's true of most big national banks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is something that middle and senior management don't seem to be able to reign in. Most individual producers and 1st level managers don't feel like they are listened-to. Often times, large strategic changes are rolled out, only to be abandoned later because executive level managers don't really understand the front lines or the clients.

Development Coaching is very powerful, but doesn't happen enough. I've seen so many exceptional employees leave because they had no career plan or advocate.
