I worked at U.S. Cellular

Pros

Free cell phone service for employees. The company is customer focused.

Cons

Horrible work life balance. Never any positive recognition, always focused on the negative. poor middle management. Way behind on the times, especially with new technology. Tends to be a follower in the industry. Never does any outside activities for its employees (Holiday parties) Inner departments have no consistency. Customer Service tells customers something different than what Sales reps in the store say. Job security is almost non existant, people feel nervous just going to work everday. Getting promoted you more than likely will take a pay cut in sales. Would never work here again.

Get with the times, be a leader rather than a follower

    I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    The culture promotes a great place in most cases. There has been alot of great training over the years that include several diffrent departments.

    Cons

    For the most part it is evident that when people leave USC they are no longer happy with USC. There have been alot of changes over the years (not unexspected). where there used to be alot of tenured assoicates there seems to be less of them many new faces. There seems to be a growing issue with the culture and overall image of the culture and the leaders.

    I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Small company. Did not have layoffs in the time I worked there in there Network Operations department (but may be coming soon). Do not borrow money to over extend the company

    Cons

    The wireless industry is growing so fast that U S Cellular can not keep up. They are losing customers and have poor phone choices. There online ordering is out dated.

    Get bigger or sell it all
