I have been working at U.S. Cellular

Pros

Great place to work part time as college kid. For what you do, they pay pretty well. Very good company with great products and services.

Cons

Retail hours, dealing with customers, offer academic reimbursement but no real pipeline for advancement. A lot of employee turnover and recent changes in commission is starting to push the most tenured associates out of the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that front-line associates directly impact the customer experience and they should not have 3 commissions changes in one quarter.

    I worked at U.S. Cellular

    Pros

There are truly some genuine employees within the organization. Those employees live the Dynamic Organization to the extent of prominence.

    Cons

There is no senior leadership accountability. Very poor leadership in human resources, sales and customer service. Political policies and vice practices may cause the organization to struggle from a hiring, promotion and firing standpoint. Poor leadership and practices within the diversity of the organization and not "truly" living the values that the company preaches have had a negative and adverse impact on employees within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mary Dillon needs a fresh start with cleaning out her executive leadership and directors/management closet at USCellular. Having authentic and genuine leaders in those positions will enable her to be sucessful and decipher the company's overall weakness as a whole. The organization is declining specifically with the "Dis-Belief" project- too many leaders in the wrong positions.
