I worked at U.S. Fund for UNICEF

    Pros

    - summer hours (leave at 2 on Fridays in the Summer)
    - personal gratification of working for a good cause
    - some level of managment appreciation
    - some efforts made to train employees

    Cons

    - management is not understanding when it comes to asking for vacation time off (there is NEVER really a good time to take off)
    - little room for advancement
    - lots of wasteful spending
    - managerial inefficiencies
    - don't expect to be able to work from home, or Part-Time! (for those that think that UNICEF is family friendly)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - let your staff use their vacation days!
    - allow for more cross-functional training

I worked at U.S. Fund for UNICEF full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Mission is admirable, many staff truly committed to the mission

    Cons

Too many priorities, not enough staff (or not all working efficiently). Rewards and promotions go to favorites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look in the mirror. Turnover (and people actively searching) is high. Culture starts at the top.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
