Pros

Interesting topics to work on, work/ife balance, co-workers are pleasant, good travel if you're on the right team, good benefits.

Cons

Tedious at times, if you are on a bad team you're going to have a long 9-18 months finishing a project, too much structure at times which inhibits creativity, many layers of review, and little control over your own work, and limited promotion opportunities.

Advice to Management

Shorten engagements, not every engagement needs to be 9 months or longer. Become more efficient in the way we conduct out work.

    Pros

Great culture, wonderful work-life balance, they really care about their employees. You also get to know projects in-depth, and get wonderful visibility with upper management. They care about career progression and provide helpful feedback for employees.

    Cons

You work on one project continuously, so if you like lots of different tasks it may be boring.

  2. Interesting work, but slow career growth at relatively low pay

    Pros

Access to high-level government officials, work that is interesting and relevant, new projects every 9-12 months, get to work on a variety of topics, can move around the agency to work on new portfolios, great flexible work environment

    Cons

Slow job growth, lower salary than comparable jobs in executive branch agencies or private sector

    Advice to Management

Make more efforts to help good analysts climb up the career ladder
