I have been working at U.S. Security Associates

Pros

Nothing really comes to mind other than the fact it was a 4/10 schedule giving you 3 days off a week.

Cons

First off, you are expected to drive all over the place. They don't reimburse you for gas mileage until you reach mile 60 in a day. Convienently, all your sites require you to drive 59 miles or less in a day. Secondly, the paychecks are mailed to you from Georgia, so you are constantly at the mercy of USPS to get paid as they do not offer direct deposit. Also, to get vacation time, you have to work there for 2 years and then you get something like a measly 3 days. They are not flexible with scheduling at all. They throw you here and there with no regard to sleep or family life.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start treating your employees better, get direct deposit, start paying for gas mileage, and offer some real benefits to working there.

Overall a good Stop-Gap Job between College and the business world

    Pros

    Flexible.
    Good Pay.
    Good Hours.
    OT All the time.

Working here wasn't bad. I enjoyed the more professional experience at USSA. However it is not a place you should stay long. Work here if you are inbetween school and the business world and/or career. It would be a great place to work if you are a current college student as the Shift Work works out well. Our shifts were 1st - 2300-0700 2nd 0700-1500 and 3rd 1500-2300.

    Cons

Shift Work - I didn't Mind it but do you?
    Lack of respect from FTEs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Push for more qualified Site Managers who are more communicative with their officers.

the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for

    Pros

The only pro is that this company will hire ANYONE! As long as you are somewhat literate, and can count to 10 they will give you a job.

    Cons

low pay, no help from the branch office, lost paychecks, understaffed 90 % of the time, no advancement opportunity, poor scheduling, no sick pay, poor benefits package
This company offers a vacation check and opportunity to take a vacation after two years, however, if your site is understaffed, forget your vacation. They don't like OT. God forbid you get ill, as this will cause them OT, and could cost you your job! They like to write you up for EVERYTHING!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of management because you are doing a TERRIBLE job!
