Approves of CEO

I have been working at UBS full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

If you work with the right FA, you can really learn a lot. I am preparing to start the New FA program, and have been working as a CSA. Sometimes the FAs can be oblivious, but overall everyone works together well.

Cons

Sometimes, the focus is not people based. Obviously the overall goal is to bring in assets, but sometimes the FAs and the firm forgets that those assets belong to human beings.

Advice to Management

Remember, people should come first.

I have been working at UBS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent work quality of life experience.

    Cons

The place has become a very depressing and unmotivating place to work over the last 4 years. Things do not seem to be getting better.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value hard working and dedicated employees and build a culture that rewards that. Identify the talent.

  2. Shutting down the investment bank

I have been working at UBS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some very good people there in the trenches. Had a decent global reach at one point and brand outside of US still OK

    Cons

Harvard Business School case study in how not to manage a business. Nobody is getting paid and they have set in motion what will result in the complete shut down of the US investment bank. Morale is a joke and nobody has any intention of staying any longer than it takes to find a new job.

    Advice to Management

Be candid with people and tell them that the game is up. Stop pretending like there's a real strategy in the US IB anymore.
