I worked at UBS full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

decent brand globally, building was in a decent location in London

    Cons

evil people, mistreats employees, no longer the smart organization it once was, and allows a-holes to flourish. They break contracts at will, and lie to employees about the meaning of their contracts. Felt like I needed a lawyer with me continuously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    shut this place down. seriously.

I have been working at UBS full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    very process oriented
there is almost to all questions an answer - super intranet platform
very good workforce still very committed employees

    Cons

extremely difficult and complex organization structure
    less and less people oriented
not dealing with change environment effectively
struggeling with inside-out-view: too focused on internal processes
setting up too many project and forgets about implementation
still not able to motivate employees to work cross-divisonal, everyone is too much focused on own contribution due to remuneration model
    less is more!
    Succession planning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

external consultant will not be able to change internal behaviour and processes - be braver by believing in your own work force
look closely at remuneration and performance model: the current models are not able to achieve your goals
make sure you also take cultural differences into account
invest more in leadership accountability and training!
