I worked at UBS full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Diversity in work and positive Outlook following restructuring.

    Cons

Still too much Silo Mentality, as a result there isn't a one sinke Culture...work Environment is Dependent in your work area. I worked in The former WMSB and environment was friendly and relaxed. When integration with IB took place (reorg) environment became hostile....beaware.

I have been working at UBS as a contractor

    Pros

Focus on the work to be done. They dont go chasing people for "productivity" in a quantitative manner. Flexible in terms of work time/ lunch hour, so long as the work gets done. Diverse workforce. Team works closely together, with minimal "senior-junior" mindset.

    Cons

High expectations of your work. There is pressure to perform well, no room for mistakes. No flexi-work arrangements or work-from-home schemes. Steep initial learning curve. You have to learn fast to stay afloat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please increase the headcount. Many employees are outsource contract staff on relatively short contractual terms. Will benefit the Bank greatly if these staff attains a higher level of commitment and job security, to grow with the Bank.
