Pros

World class firm. Great benefits. Good experience.

Cons

Lack of opportunities to move up. Pay has been stagnant. High Net worth focus contradicts with accounts who are below High Net Worth. Trading fees are very high. No online platform. European HQ views conflict with home office Americas direction. 401k match was reduced.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within rather than from the outside. Have a structured career path for employees. Provide better incentives.

    Pros

Love the European culture (4 weeks vacation is the standard) and for the most part fairly flat hierarchy structure allows access to senior management. There are pockets at UBS that are doing fairly well esp in Wealth Management and front office roles.

    Cons

Offshoring / outsourcing is very discouraging and lowers the quality that everything UBS used to stand for. I must say that technology is not even close to where it should be. As far as career growth, it is an absolute joke. Bonuses are not even close of where they used to be and the training is subpar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a company that employees can be proud of! Instead of developing professionals and setting the gold standard you are cheapening everything that UBS used to be. The number of competent employees that have left is shameful, not to mention the apathetic culture you are creating. I'm usually optimistic in general, but the sheep mentality from the top and low morale has to change. No wonder many of senior managers have left for other companies!
