I have been working at UC Irvine full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Good quality of life, nice campus and people, flexibility with your schedule depending on your department.

Cons

Budget cuts, no recent raises and lots of challenges with limited resources. Hard to get promoted/raises.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize talent and compensate for it, or you'll spend more money trying to replace the good people you already have.

I have been working at UC Irvine part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you live on campus, it's a great way to make money between classes. Even though you get paid just over minimum wage at best, they work with your class schedule, never forcing you to miss out on what you are paying for.

    Cons

The wages are probably the only downside, that and, for most of the jobs, there are limitations on how many hours you are allowed to work per week.
