I have been working at UC San Diego full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

laid back campus environment, good benefits, flexible hours, great area and weather

Cons

expensive parking, some employees are too laid back at times, raises can be few and far between due to budget situation. Not all departments have the same amount of $$, gotta move around to move up

invest more in retaining the good ones

Nice campus, but HR is unfair to staff.

I have been working at UC San Diego full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Beautiful and prestigious university with lots of amazing research going on.

    Cons

HR does not follow their own rules for granting pay raises and for hiring new employees. Wages are too low, benefits are being reduced all the time, and we have to pay to work here due to very poor public transport to the campus.
