I have been working at UC San Francisco part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good opportunity to learn a lot about the health care industry and lots of entry level jobs. There are lots of young people that work there as well.

Cons

Not a lot of advancement opportunities and chances to change positions. Also the organization can be slow moving.

I worked at UC San Francisco full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Truly inspired people to work with. Good facilities. Many opportunities for lower level (non-PhD) researchers.

    Cons

Research has become extremely competitive accompanied by the stress of constant innovation. If you like it then it is a great environment. You have to find the right people to work with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a good colleague for everyone around you. It takes a good team to do great things. Respect everyone you work with and every contribution they make.
