    Pros

    Lots going on.
    Some departments are growing - for example neuro

    Cons

    No money... have to get a grant to stay there, and almost impossible to get a grant.
    Nothing changes... same ppl do almost the same studies over and over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fund more, allow more grants to be submitted, more resources for young investigators.

    Pros

    - UCSF is a well known school

    Cons

    - Upper management could care less about staff
    - Terrible human resource staff
    - Few opportunities for growth in the academic environment if you are staff because PI's want to keep the money to themselves

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Start appreciating staff, regardless of their status in the workplace
