    Pros

large company, can move around if you find you are unhappy in a department. its so large that its hard to get a handle on things from a management perspective. they do give reviews on time. some good minor recognition. good discounts around sf

    Cons

super bureaucratic, anyone who isn't a doctor is treated like an idoit. accounting is really backwards. expenses are paid whenever they get around to it. you have to fight for everything. HR is there to protect them, not to help employees. if you know someone high up, you can get anything passed

I have been working at UC San Francisco

    Pros

UCSF is a great place to work. The management really stresses the importance of work-life balance. Most employees don't work more than 40 hours a week. The benefits is very generous and for a nonprofit university, the compensation is decent. If you live in SF, getting to work is very convenient, as there are free shuttle services to the different parts of campus and most facilities are accessible via public transportation also.

    Cons

The compensation could be better when compared to actual costs of living in the SF bay area. In addition, there tends to be bureaucractic overhead, which can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    less bureaucracy
