Current Employee - Community Assistant in Santa Cruz, CA

Pros

Leadership skills, Event Planning Experience, Networking abilities

Cons

Duty/Documentations were the least favorite thing that I had to do during my time there. However, it is necessary and part of the job. Sometimes people reacted negatively to your position, but you learned how to communicate with difficult people, which was extremely valuable.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I loved being a CA, some of the most valuable experience I've had at UCSC

Neutral Outlook

People are really hard to work with

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Current Employee - Dining Hall Worker in Santa Cruz, CA

    Pros

    Free food
    Consistent Work
    On campus

The main benefit is that this place is great for meeting other college students. It also allows you to have something on your resume for when you graduate.

    Cons

Low pay (except for the top)
    Incompetent managers

Sometimes there will be new rules that don't make any sense but you have to follow them. Every manager has a different set of rules that they adhere to. You must learn a different job for each manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Standardize your rules.
