UCB – “UCB: use to be innovative, now very cahotic

UCB Scientific Publication Manager in Brussels (Belgium):   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

Very little is done, but overall if you are a self-motivated person, you could achieve something. UCB is a family owned company who tried to invest massively but with no real vision. If you can survive this, then UCB might be for you.

Cons

No support, bad communication, clueless management. Go there, do whatever you like and as soon as you get bored, go away. UCB is hopeless in its lack of structure, charisma and identity. The company that launched 2 blockbusters (Zyrtec and Keppra) was great at managing serendipity. now the magic is gone and the management is envisioning a bright future that no employee buy in.

Advice to Senior Management

Senior management is dreaming of a company that does not exist. To put it simply: UCB can't execute. Missed deadlines, rejections and forced optimism are now too common in project teams.
