good experience

Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

Pros- great teaching experience for PhD students
- opportunity to become very familiar with an area outside of your expertise
- opportunity to develop your own teaching and grading philosophy

Cons- the quality of your experience greatly depends on the faculty member that you TA for.
- overworked sometimes; too many students per TA
- dealing with aggressive students when it comes to your grades
