I worked at UCLA part-time (less than an year)

Pros

-good colleagues
-challenging academic environment
-excellent students

Cons

--it's a huge university, so bureaucracy is inevitable
--funding cuts definitely hurt teaching staff with crazy staff to student ratios esp in summer

    It is great to do research here. The weather is good.

    Stimulating environment, good faculty, a cultured place, depending on the PI, low pressure

    Cons

    Can be slow; funding is always an issue, low pay
