Pros

It was great having the opportunity to work with top-notch researchers at such an established institution. I also appreciated the flexible schedule, ability to take courses, and the close proximity of the gym :).

Cons

The location - most of us didn't live near Westwood and the cost of parking a car on campus was extremely expensive. (However there are some good bus lines). The salary was also lower than what you'd expect for doing the same job elsewhere, but it was enough for me.

Advice to Management

It would be nice to have more professional development workshops to help staff learn how they can keep challenging themselves in their careers.

    Pros

Great benefits and a beautiful campus

    Cons

Management is extremely condescending and has no training on dealing with employees. One supervisor made her employees write down on a white board the times they went to the bathroom. My direct supervisor was so afraid of her manager she would never stand up for us and let us down a lot.

    Advice to Management

Take some training on communicating with employees.

    Advice to Management

    - Stay classy, UCLA
