I have been working at UHY LLP full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Definitely a good alternative to the Big 4

Cons

Benefits package is not current with the competition: 18 PTO days and 6.5 holidays for senior employees; insurance options are very expensive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do some benefits benchmarking and update the package.

    I have been working at UHY LLP full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive pay, good bonus
    Free parking in new Allen Pkwy location
    Diverse people and culture
    Diverse client

    Cons

    As an intern, there were very few events. As staff, there are even less team/company events unless you are proactive about it.
    Office politics.
    Hard to meet new people (haven't talked to a tax staff yet)
    Lots of cliques
    Diverse clients, but most much smaller than what you would see at big 4

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recruit and retain talent, reinvest more into the company as a whole.

    Company treats top performers well.
    Partners/principals willing to teach
    High total compensation
    Manager and above stay at the company a long time

    Cons

    Low base pay
    average performers are sometimes forgotten
    Bonus system lacks transparency
    Staff do not stay long.

    Hire more staff and try harder to retain talent.
