I have been working at UNC Health Care

    Pros

An incredible hospital nationally recognized and located in a great area. The focus is on helping the people which makes any job more worthwhile.

    Cons

It can often be a dull environment with spotty leadership. I work in the business offices, so we don't get much action.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Explain tasks more clearly and work with employees until they have a process down to highly capable, divide tasks efficiently.

Same struggles as most public hospitals, but making a real effort to overcome them.

I worked at UNC Health Care

    Pros

Great facility and good pay. They are making real efforts to improve the tense culture that can arise from a stressed out work environment.

    Cons

Like many public hospitals, too much work to be done by too few people. Management's stress over staying in budget trickles down to the staff. To be fair, this is a US health care system problem and not specifically a UNC Health Care problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage staff to take care of their own physical and mental health the same way patient's are encouraged to take care of their health, meaning making staff feel that it is important that they get rest, recreation, and social time.
