I have been working at UPMC full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good PTO & Benefits package (17 days of PTO to start)
Ability to apply to internal postings after 1 year.
Great people

Cons

Underpaid
Parking is terrible- shuttles are unreliable and add another 30 minutes to each end of your commute.
Training opportunities are slim. The training that is available is pretty terrible

Recommends

    Pros

    Good benefits, pay scale and work schedule. Solid technology platform. Came back to UPMC after working elsewhere. Smart people and challenging work.

    Cons

    Lack of career ladder or promotion track. No advanced technical training available. Conferences are generally only for senior leadership and physician leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create better opportunities for advanced technical training. Implement opportunities for ISD/technical staff to work across teams/organizations.
