Current Employee - Part Time Package Handler
Current Employee - Part Time Package Handler

I have been working at UPS part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great benefits, great pay, 401k, health care, dental, vision, life insurance, decent hours. Can be a lot of work, or easy money depending on your position!

Cons

Sometimes can be long hours, package handling job causes strains on the body, mostly the back. Schedules are not flexible, and not completely consistent. Can work at 10:45pm and work at 11:30pm a couple of days later.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more people that actually want to work long term.

    I worked at UPS full-time

    Pros

    *It's a large company
    *Pay is decent

    Cons

*Management runs the company like the military. Don't be surprised if you are yelled at in front of co-workers. Don't be surprised if you are asked to go in to work at any hour based on management's discretion, regardless of how many hours you've been at work already.
    *Promotion opportunities are low
*Drivers are union so they typically hate management
*Management is required to wear suits, how old school is that?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get up with the times and go through training on how to treat employees. When a mass exiting of employees occurs at the same time, there is likely a problem - get a clue and make fixes.
