Current Employee - Part Time Supervisor in Minneapolis, MN
Current Employee - Part Time Supervisor in Minneapolis, MN

I have been working at UPS part-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great benefits, good pay, promote from within, fast paced. Job security is also very high, UPS isn't going out of business anytime soon. If you work hard, do what you are told, and keep a good attitude it is easy to move up.

Cons

Bad hours either early morning or late night. Can be stressful due to deadlines and having to manage union employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your front line PT supervisors. They are doing all the dirty work!

I have been working at UPS full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Top pay rates, stable job

    Cons

Extremely long hours, Have to choose between your integrity or your success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The job is tough. The hours are long and hard, but they are made longer and harder because of the defective dispatch tools. Try talking to one of your front line dispatchers in a large center about what they need to be more successful and cut down their hours. You'll find that your vaunted technology is actually pretty crappy. The only thing that makes UPS successful is that the competition is actually, God help them, worse at it.
