good pay, work outside(usually a good thing. good benefits. Union

Cons

company treats most employees as if they were nothing more than cogs in a machine, very inhuman.

This company and our relationships with customers are often too complicated to be forced to conform to data on a piece of paper.

    Employees are resilient
    Performance review process is comprehensive
    Company tries to hire/promote from within
    Culture and values are clear and well promoted

    Cons

    Weak leadership seems acceptable in some departments
    Poor emphasis on training, growing employee skills, staying current with market (this can prove to be a problem when promoting from within)
    Promotion process is sometimes a mystery

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change management for a company so large is not easy, so providing consistent leadership is key. Focus on better managing expectations and on employee engagement. Don't treat staff as if they are all replaceable.
