    Pros

The company is involved in many aspects of today's economy and there are many good people working directly with customers.

    Cons

Not really a single corporation. Really more of a collection of individual companies not really working together. Management doesn't seem to follow "industry best practices" regarding leadership/HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow the policies that you promulgate and hold personnel accountable. Take more of an interest in the development of personnel especially since you claim they are your greatest asset.

Great for Mid-level Technical People or Senior Technical People Who Have Clients

    Pros

    1. Good opportunities for technical people to gain experience when projects are won.
    2. Good compensation opportunities for mid-level technical people.
    3. Great compensation for senior technical people who have clients and can win projects.
    4. Potential to grow your skills through increased responsibilities.
    5. Great overall benefits package.
    6. Great for being able to do anything a client asks due to so many technical people across the country.

    Cons

    1. No set plan for career development/growth and promotion; changes are up to your manager's whims.
    2. Intense focus on billability by management makes people look for a new job and wonder who will get laid off when there is a lull in project wins. It's a cycle that gets draining and defeating after a few times.
    3. Always acquires new senior leaders from other companies instead of promoting existing employees to those roles.
    4. Gives more responsibilities without giving more compensation or changes in title/classification.
    5. Management seems overly focused on profits and shareholders at the expense of the employees they're responsible for.
    6. No unified corporate responsibility program that gives back to the community or a non-profit organization; programs are driven by local offices/managers who ask employees for ideas and then ask us to donate our time/dollars to implement those ideas as well. As a result of the lack of a unified program, some offices have great programs and others have nearly none.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As a professional services corporation, remember that employees are your greatest resource and not just an expense or revenue generator.
