Former Employee - Control Room Operator in Umatilla, OR

I worked at URS full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

good pay and lots of hours if wanted. Lots of rotating shift work but easy work usually. 7 days off every 4 weeks.

Cons

Good ole boy network when it comes to getting hired and promoted. Rotating shift work and flip flopping from days to nights. Lots of construction projects so you work yourself out of a job and no guarantee they will transfer you when done.

Current Employee - Marketing Coordinator in Chicago, IL

I have been working at URS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's a very large company so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people and possible advancement in your career, based on what kind of employee you are (professional, technical, etc.)

    Cons

Being a public company, management was more interested in keeping shareholders happy than keeping their employees happy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move to a PTO benefit package instead of vacation/sick time. It will greatly increase your employees work/life balance issues.
