URS Employee Review
URS – “Friendly People, Substandard Benefits”
Pros
Most people that you work with at URS are helpful and competent. You have a choice of working 9/80 or flex time. You can also telecommute. The politics seems to be less evident than in other places.
Cons
Pay, 401k, and health benefits are significantly below industry norms. You'll notice that a lot of people only stick around for a couple of years after college, this is probably why.
There is room for growth, but if you are not interested in budgeting and marketing, you probably will not enjoy any of the advancement options.
The ability to use overhead depends on your workgroup and location. This can be frustrating if they have issues with the server and you have to make up the time they spend fixing it.
Advice to Senior Management
To improve employee retention, total compensation should be re-evaluated. If someone can receive 20k more somewhere else and have more affordable healthcare, why should they stay at URS?
