I worked at URS a company of AECOM full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Friendly operations personnel and management knowing what they want and how to get there.

Cons

Has no idea of configuration management from an engineering aspect. Still uses paper and hand documentation in an inert filing system. Instead of microfiche, Microstation, etc.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to understand communication instead of self preservation. Does not support continued employment and retirement.

Good for listing experience on your resume but limited growth and compensation.

I have been working at URS a company of AECOM full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours. I've always had billable work. I've only had to work some 50-80 hour weeks. Typical is 40 hours.

    Cons

Low pay. Many people in the environmental group do not get raises. The typical raise is 1%. Higher than 3% raise is almost unheard of. Limited training opportunities.

I worked at URS a company of AECOM full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people to work with/for. Quality projects. Great place to learn or great place to start late in your career.

    Cons

Hard to move up from the level you are hired in. A lot of turn over with lower level employees. Layoffs are a possibility. Each branch basically serves as its own company. Not the highest pay for lower level employees. They try to "low ball" you in the interview.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs more cohesion between branches and more chances for employees to advance.
