I have been working at US Air Force full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Steady job, you have to screw up to lose it. Depending on your actual job, it doesn't feel like the military most of the time.

Cons

Slow promotions compared to other branches. If you are enlisted, be prepared to become a babysitter. It's all about taking care of your troops, on top of your actual job.

I have been working at US Air Force full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great quality of life and benefits.

    Cons

Constant budget pressures, lack of raises and benefits costs raising. Promotion to higher grades is very difficult at best. Upper grades are reserved for retiring military officers. Not sure how good it is above middle managment because of lack of promotion opportunities and the constant lack of raises and benefit hits.

I have been working at US Air Force full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Continued opportunity for advancement, increasing leadership skills. USAF paid for my Master's Degree and provided numerous training certifications.

    Cons

Expect to move every 3-4 years. Active duty may have deployments to hostile fire zones. You must make promotions to remain on active duty.
