I have been working at US Air Force full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Service to one's nation should be why you join the USAF. You have to have that genuine attitude to bare with the constant deployments and bureaucracy of the USAF. Benefits are fantastic.

    Cons

Merit based promotions are desireable. While the USAF tries to say they care about the people and the mission, do not mistake yourself, the mission ALWAYS comes before the people. If I could change one thing, this would be it. If you treat your people better, there morale would rise and they'd be more productive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop cutting people, you'll get too thin.
