It was a very laid back environment and my co-workers were very nice and willing to help.

I have been working at US Army Corps of Engineers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very friendly place to work, laid back. Most of the time if you are unhappy they will find another position for you where you'll be a better fit.

    Cons

Pay isn't the best (but it's gov work, so you give and take). Doesn't seem to be a lot of room to move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire people who deserve it (people who always come in late and leave early/take 2 hour lunches/never do any work but play on facebook all day)

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
  2.

Rewarding, challenging work, but often too beaurocratic.

I have been working at US Army Corps of Engineers full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Hard-working, intellegent professionals, dedicated to the work. Our mission is important to public safety, the nation's economy and the quality of life for millions of Americans.

    Cons

Too many reviews to get the work done in a timely manner; declining budgets are impacting staffing and reducing opportunities for promation. More work to do than available staff also hurts mission accomplishment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep trumpeting our importance to the nation and Congress - we've had declining budgets for years!!
